COMMISSIONING A PAINTING

Commissioned paintings are professionally created and varnished to protect the painting for decades to come. Prices start at $50 for miniature paintings.

I paint using photographs for reference and inspiration. The first step is to collect a few of your favorite photographs of the subject to start the conversation, or even one image if it has special meaning. Providing multiple photographs help me see the subject through your eyes and learn more.

I prefer to work with canvases that are between 3x3 inches to 12x12 inches. Naturally, price is directly related to size. The size and shape of the canvas will also be influenced by the reference photograph chosen for the painting.

The painting will be ready to hang when you receive it. I will paint the sides so it does not need to be framed. The back will include gallery wiring. (Wire not included on 3x3 inch paintings. 3x3 inch paintings are included with a wooden easel for display.)

If you live in the Massachusetts area, I would love to meet somewhere to give you the painting in person. Otherwise I can mail the painting to you using USPS with tracking.

I accept cash, Venmo and most major credit cards. Payment will need to be made at delivery (if in person) or prior to mailing.

Honestly, it is impossible for me to give you an estimated delivery date because there are so many variables. Please let me know if you need it by a certain date. Usually, my commissioned paintings are completed in less than two months.

A big part of getting a commissioned painting is collaboration. I once did a commission of a 3x3 inch painting of a beautiful cat named Queen Isabella and her human requested I add a crown. I was delighted to add the crown!
